Join Us As We Raise Funds And Awareness To End Violence Against Women And Girls
January 23, 2012, OTTAWA: On February 24th and 25th 2012, at 8pm, V-Day The Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) in partnership with Minwaashin Lodge will present a two night only benefit reading of Eve Ensler’s award winning play The Vagina Monologues at The Bronson Centre, 211 Bronson Ave., Ottawa. Tickets start at $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Last year over 5,800 V-Day benefits were held around the world raising funds and awareness towards ending violence against women. These highly successful events raised over $5 million through performance of Eve Ensler’s award-winning play, The Vagina Monologues, readings from V-Day’s A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer and Any One Of Us: Words From Prison and screenings of V-Day’s documentary Until The Violence Stops. The Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) has joined this global movement as part of the V-Day Ottawa 2012 Campaign.
The Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) is excited to not only be involved, but hosting in partnership with Minwaashin Lodge, this benefit production of The Vagina Monologues at The Bronson Centre, on February 24th and 25th 2012, at 8PM on behalf of the V-Day 2012 Campaign. This benefit production is sponsored by SASC Ottawa, CelebrateHER.org, Rytec and CHUO FM 89.1. The proceeds of this year’s production will go towards two local charities working to end violence against women: The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa (SASC) and Minwaashin Lodge Aboriginal Women’s Support Centre. Also, 10% of proceeds will go towards the VDay 2012 spotlight campaign – Women and Girls of Haiti.
