In an effort to highlight Aboriginal youth initiatives and successes, CANDO features a National Youth Panel at our Annual National Conference & AGM. This event features Aboriginal youth who are pursing and speaking their ways of success in areas of education, working within the field of Aboriginal economic development and/or as individual entrepreneurs.

New Aboriginal Youth Program at the Haliburton School of the Arts (Fleming College)

Haliburton School of The Arts (Fleming College), Nogojiwanong Friendship Centre, and the Aboriginal Research Institute are pleased to announce the upcoming collaborative program in Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneurship.

The Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneurship Program centres on developing young Aboriginal entrepreneurs in the arts, crafts and music sectors. It also focuses on developing or expanding a micro-enterprise, and enhancing participants' understandings of the arts, crafts and music businesses and supply chain elements.

Aboriginal Arts Mentoring Training & Development Grant

Two competitions per year, deadlines: June 30th and November 30th


Program:
The program aims to promote excellence in Aboriginal arts in Manitoba by providing financial assistance to individual artists so they can reach their next level of artistic and career development. These could include skills development, apprenticeships, professional training, or mentorships that share artistic and cultural skills and knowledge.
