Seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Project Lead for CyberWolves, a web-based mentoring initiative for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students in Grades 7 and 8. Classrooms of students will be matched with a team of four mentors from the Lead Your Way! National Aboriginal Role Model Program for a minimum of one year.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborating with two to three Aboriginal communities and up to twelve mentors.

All the employment and career counselling services at the Youth Employment Centre are FREE for youth between 15 and 24 years old. Free services include use of a fax machine, Employment Counsellors, photocopiers, job boards, Internet and computer access, hiring and career fairs, workshops and their resource area.

Matachewan First Nation is looking for students interested in a summer job as a ranger. As part of the First Nations Natural Resources Youth Employment Program, successful applicants will work for Outland Reforestation Inc in natural resources based training and educational activities six days a week for seven weeks.

Why:

Every summer the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources runs the Aboriginal Youth Work Exchange Program which gives Aboriginal youth (age 15 to 24) the opportunity to work for 8 weeks for the Ministry. Successful applicants stay with the program for three summers during which time they will also complete an exchange component between the Ministry of Natural Resourcse and a First Nation community or Aboriginal organization.

Whitehorse—Yukon youth will have a new resource to help them discover their career options, Education Minister Patrick Rouble and Skookum Jim Friendship Centre President Nelson Lepine announced today.

The First Nations and Inuit Health Branch of Health Canada (FNIHB), in partnership with several Aboriginal Organizations located in the National Capital Region (Ottawa, Gatineau and surrounding area), is seeking Aboriginal post-secondary students interested in program and policy related summer positions. This is a Aboriginal culture-based program. Successful applicants will participate in an orientation day and bi-weekly activities in an Aboriginal cultural setting.
